A twelve-table bistro on Santa Fe Avenue. Everything comes off the oak grill, the bread is baked at 5am, and the wine list is short on purpose.
Our story
Aurora started as a Sunday supper club in a rented church hall. Fourteen people, one grill, and a rule we still keep: cook it over wood or don't put it on the plate.
We buy beef from the Hoffman family forty minutes east, greens from three growers within the county, and bake every loaf here from a starter that's older than the restaurant. The menu changes because the farms change.

The room
Forty covers, an open pass, and a bar you're welcome to eat at on your own with a book.
Guest book
The cornbread alone is worth the drive from Wichita. We came for an anniversary and stayed until they turned the lights up.
Best steak in central Kansas and it isn't close. Marguerite picked a $14 glass that beat a bottle I'd have paid triple for.
Booked for four, ended up eating at the bar chatting to the chef. That's the whole place in one sentence.
Reservations
We hold six seats at the bar for walk-ins every night. Everything else books out about ten days ahead, so plan a little.
