Cancellation Policy
Last updated 4 September 2026 · Beyond Website Development
Care plans run for an initial 3-month term and then continue month to month. After that there is no lock-in, no cancellation fee, and no phone call you have to sit through to leave.
How to cancel
Email Joshua.Journet@protonmail.com from the address on the account and say you want to cancel. That is the whole process. You will get written confirmation with your final billing date.
The initial term
A care plan runs for an initial 3 months. That term is what lets the build fee be as low as it is — the build is priced well below what the work costs, and the care plan is what makes the project viable.
After the initial term the plan simply continues month to month, and you can end it at any time with the notice below.
Need to end a plan during the initial term? Email and talk to us. We would rather find something that works than hold anyone to a plan they cannot use.
Notice period
Once you are month to month, we ask for 30 days notice. Your plan stays active, and your site stays online and supported, through that period and to the end of any month you have already paid for. You are not billed again after that.
Cancel on the 3rd and your site runs to the 3rd of the following month. Nothing is switched off the moment you ask.
What happens to your website
The care plan pays for hosting, so when it ends the hosting ends with it. Before that happens you get, at no cost:
- A complete export of your site files and content.
- Your domain, transferred to you or to any registrar you choose — if the domain was bought on your behalf, it is yours, not ours.
- Any image, copy or brand assets produced for your project.
We hold your site files for 30 days after the final billing date in case you change your mind, then delete them.
Refunds on cancellation
Part-months are not refunded, since the month ahead has already been paid for and delivered. Prepaid annual plans are refunded pro rata for whole unused months. The full detail is in the Refund & Dispute Policy.
If we cancel
We may end a care plan with 30 days written notice — for non-payment, for abusive conduct, or if the site is used for anything illegal. In every case you get the same export and domain transfer described above, so you are never left without your own website.
Pausing instead of cancelling
Seasonal business? Ask about pausing rather than cancelling. A paused plan keeps your site online at a reduced rate and keeps your build in place, so you are not paying a fresh build fee when you come back.
